Inspire
For Year 6 children to help with their transition to secondary school. Transition can be scary, but this group encourages young people to become more independent, learn skills which will help them navigate high school and make new friendships ready for moving up together.
SELFA Inspire is a transition group for Year 6 children. This group is designed to help children prepare for the move to secondary school. Sessions will run every week in term time until July 2026, lasting 2 hours. Transition can feel scary, but this group gives children the chance to: • Build confidence and independence for life in secondary school • Learn practical skills to manage new routines and challenges • Take part in team games and problem-solving activities • Make new friendships with other children moving up together • Share worries and experiences in circle time, so everyone feels supported The group is supportive and child-led, giving children tools to navigate high school and helping them feel ready, confident, and connected.
