SECONDARY SCHOOL AGE & YOUTH

Bentham Youth Club, Youth Action, Settle Youth Club: These groups give young people the chance to: Connect with peers and develop a sense of belonging, plan and lead social action projects in their local area and make improvements in the community. The creative and practical projects, such as awareness campaigns, community events, or fundraising activities, allow young people to work on their confidence, teamwork and communication skills.

Go Wild Youth: SELFA Go Wild is a group for young people aged 15 to 19 who love the outdoors and want to get hands-on with nature. Participants can take part in outdoor adventures, explore hidden spots and complete team activities. They will also learn about the environment and work on projects like planting, creating wildlife habitats and community clean-ups, to build teamwork skills, confidence, and problem-solving skills.

SELFA Wellness Group: SELFA Wellness is a group for girls aged 11 to 19 who would like to focus on their wellbeing and self-care. They can explore feelings and emotions in a safe and supportive space, take part in mindfulness and relaxation activities and enjoy arts, journaling and crafts. Girls can also join in activities like karaoke and team games. It helps girls to build resilience, develop coping skills and feel calmer and more confident.

Youth Board: Youth Board works to embed the six principles of youth social action across SELFA, ensuring activities are: Youth-led, challenging, have a social impact, allow for progression to other opportunities, are embedded in a young person’s life, and enable reflection about the value of the activities. The group offers peer support, promotes youth voice and co-design as well as building confidence to speak up and make a difference in their community.

WELLBEING CAFES & YOUNG ADULT

Bentham Wellbeing Cafe, Settle Wellbeing Cafe, Monday & Tuesday Wellbeing Cafe: These are safe, supportive places where children and young people can get confidential support and advice, find a listening ear, and take part in activities to improve wellbeing. They are welcoming spaces designed to help young people feel heard, valued, and empowered. With a focus on emotional health, this group encourages positive relationships, resilience, and self-care through creative, social, and therapeutic activities tailored to individual needs.

YOUNG ADULTS

Springboard: SELFA Springboard is a group for young adults aged 18 to 25 offering weekly term-time sessions in Skipton focused on building confidence, self-esteem, and achieving goals through various activities, including peer support and personal development. The programme also supports their health and wellbeing, and participants develop skills to make a positive impact in their community.
