Smile Project

A nurture group for those in Years 2-5.

This is an inter-generational group for ages 8–10 years old (Years 4–5) and will take place in Skipton where children and young people spend time with older members of the community. Sessions will run every week in term time until July 2026, lasting 2 hours. The Smile Project is all about building friendships across generations. Children will take part in activities such as: • Arts and crafts to enjoy together and share skills • Cooking and baking sessions with staff and volunteers • Games and quizzes that everyone can join in with • Seasonal projects like planting bulbs, decorating for Christmas, or making gifts • Sharing stories and experiences, learning from each other along the way The group is warm and welcoming, giving children the chance to develop confidence, empathy, and a sense of belonging in their community.
