As a friend of SELFA, we thought you might like to see a short slideshow we have made with pictures taken over the summer.
During the holidays 291 children and young people attended a workshop, trip or residential. We ran 78 activities, with opportunities to take part in sports, cookery, circus skills, music and crafts, or to visit Eureka, Malham Field Centre, Media City or Yorkshire Wildlife Park. The children and young people had lots of opportunities to develop confidence and self-esteem and gain independence through learning skills, trying new things and by taking on responsibilities as part of a task. The long summer holidays can be particularly difficult for those who are socially isolated or have difficult home lives and SELFA helps to mitigate this with regular opportunities to meet other people, forge friendships and have fun.
