Annual police quiz and auction raises money for SELFA

On March 3rd, The Craven Police Charity Fund (CPCF) held their annual charity quiz and auction at Rendezvous Hotel. This year, the event raised around £6000 for SELFA and Petal Childhood Cancer Research Charity. Over 200 people turned up to help support these charities, making it a night to remember.

The whole evening was a great success for us at SELFA, with our team winning the quiz! The auction alone raised over £4500, with the biggest seller being a framed Manchester United shirt signed by Wayne Rooney that sold for £1000. Other prizes included a weeks’ holiday in France that sold for £400 and a signed Leeds United shirt that went for £300.

Detective Inspector Steve Menzies said “We would like to thank everyone for coming on the night and also everyone who donated a prize for the auction or raffle. We would also like to thank those who supported us in other ways, like those who helped with setting up and clearing the room and making sure the whole event ran smoothly”.

The CPCF will divide the money raised between Petal Childhood Cancer Research and SELFA. The Craven Police Charity Fund have chosen these two charities because they provide support and care for young people and their families in the Craven Area.
