Despite being a relatively recent introduction to the UK, Black Friday has quickly come to match its US counterpart for reports nationwide of all night queues and general consumer chaos.
This Friday November 25th, clothing outlet Fat Face are turning the discounting day into something more positive by giving back to local communities. Following on from a successful pilot of the “Thanks For Giving” initiative last year, the retailer will once again be donating a percentage of its profits to worthwhile charities across the country, including Craven’s very own SELFA.
Established nearly 10 years ago, local children’s charity SELFA provide a range of free tailored after school and holiday clubs and deliver free holiday workshops and trips, providing respite and support for families most in need.
“We really appreciate the continued support of Fat Face, which helps us to carry on supporting disabled, disadvantaged and vulnerable children and their families.” said Emma Pears, Charity Co-ordinator of SELFA.
Skipton Fat Face store manager, Gemma Edgar, said: “We are all delighted to be able to once again team up and raise money for SELFA, a much needed community service for families in this area”.
Representatives of the charity will be in store all day to offer a gift wrapping service for customers as well as holding a raffle for a fantastic Christmas Hamper.
Fat Face raised a whopping £198,419 throughout the UK last Black Friday for assorted charities.”
